What is a Home Energy Checkup?
A Home Energy Checkup is a thorough evaluation of your home’s energy use. Our MTE EnergyPros will visit your home, assess various aspects of your energy consumption and provide you with a customized list of recommendations to improve efficiency and save money.

The Checkup Process
- Sign Up for a Home Energy Checkup
- Visit the Middle Tennessee Electric website and fill out the form to request a Home Energy Checkup.
- An MTE EnergyPro will contact you to schedule the onsite visit.
- Onsite Visit
- Depending on the size of your home, the MTE EnergyPro can assess your home and walk you through their findings in about 90 minutes.
- During the visit, the MTE EnergyPro will review your home’s energy profile.
- They will evaluate various aspects of your home, including:
- Attic Insulation
- Duct Work Conditions and Air Flow Balancing
- General Air Leak and Weatherization
- Heating and Air Conditioning Unit
- Energy Habits
- Receive Recommendations
- After the evaluation, the MTE EnergyPro will provide a customized list of recommendations.
- These recommendations are designed to help you reduce energy consumption and lower your monthly bill.
- Implement Recommendations
- Follow the personalized advice given by the MTE EnergyPro to improve your home’s energy efficiency.
- Consider making upgrades or changes based on the recommendations provided.
